Bust of Christopher Marlowe made in British Gypsum Plaster.
As with all Famous Faces there are objects around the base. For this bust we have included The Rose Theatre, Helen of Troy, the devil from Doctor Faustus, the Maltese cross from the Jew of Malta and quill and ink.
The etch around the base reads -
"COME LIVE WITH ME AND BE MY LOVE"
Like his contemporary, Shakespeare, Marlowe also became a successful playwright. Rumour has it that he also operated as a spy for Elizabeth I. His exact cause of death remains a mystery. Celebrated plays include 'The Jew of Malta' and Doctor 'Faustus'.
